Success Story: Levi Strauss & CoChallengeThe Levi’s® management team sought to educate its National Women’s Sales Team on the psychographics of the teenage girl consumer whose brand and cultural influences included the iPod, MTV and digitally stored music. Conventional training methods simply taught facts and statistics, but did not provide psychological insights into this consumer culture. A far more progressive alternative was needed. The Syncopate SolutionSyncopate used its Interactive DJ Teambuilding Experience workshop. Driving the entire process was world-renowned DJ Travis Rimando (aka DJ Pone). Participants learned how a modern DJ stores, files and performs with “digitally encoded” vinyl and MP3s linked to digital music libraries. Within minutes, DJ Pone was able to bring to life the cultural forces that shape the beliefs and practices of the members of their target market. Results The Levi’s National Women’s Sales Team was able to connect with and understand the key motivational forces affecting one of their key target markets. As a result, the team members were able to be highly effective in selling to this market, even though it had originally been less familiar to them. Mike Mecham, Levi’s Event Manager for Levi’s Brand Sales Operations, commented, “I was thrilled with the level of knowledge Syncopate had about corporate events and especially about their user friendly and innovative training." |
